First day of semester 1. No homework, but we just worked on some of the ideas of metacognition, or thinking about thinking. If you were gone, check out this short vid. Chapter 9! Last one! If we have time, I want to discuss the novel. So, in one paragraph write your final thoughts on one of the two prompts: Explain if the title of the book is fitting or not? (Is Gatsby Great?) OR What is the most important thing one could take away from this novel? (What's the moral?) Also, there are some great videos about Gatsby below that I found while making some lesson plans. Check 'em out if you're interested. Read chapter 8 of Gatsby aloud in class. ASSIGNMENT For each main characters (Nick, Daisy, Tom, Jay), reflect in full sentences on what you personally think of them? Back up your analyses. Watched Great Gatsby. Read through chapter 7 if you missed today.
Read chapter 6 of Great Gatsby aloud and did an active reading activity.
Read Chapter 5 and did the following assignment: 1) Character Reporter: Gatsby vs. Tom
