    1. SETTING - You're a director updating this movie for a new adaptation in 2025. Keeping the themes and overall meaning the same as the original version, what could be a new/different setting for this adaptation.

    2. CHARACTER - Close read the call for John's confession. Determine the individual motives of why Parris, Hale, and Danforth want John to Confess.

    3. Mr. Restad discussion

    4. MAIN IDEA - The central theme is typically a more open-ended exploration of some fundamental aspect of society or humanity. This is usually expressed not in a single word, but rather a sentence that explains what the author was trying to get the reader to understand about that idea. So, What is the Crucible about and the Salem Witch Trials? What support can you reference to back up these ideas and their representation in the play?

    5. PLOT- Examine how character choices throughout the four acts effect the play and develop a broader ideas about morality, fear, reputation, or power (choose  John Proctor’s decisions, Abigail’s manipulation, or Reverend Hale’s transformation, or Parris’s concerns about his authority)
