ASSIGNMENT: Turns out, school is for learning, and odds are someone is learning something at Senior High right now. During your first semester of journalism, you will need to report on something happening within the classroom. This covers a broad range of approaches:
a feature story about what juniors thought about The Crucible,
someone preparing for the AP government exam,
reactions to the pesky senior research project,
what the heck goes on during "drum ensemble",
a field trip or lab in geology or chemistry class,
or anything else someone is learning or doing in a class.
Generally, just report on something that you or your peers might find interesting about what students are doing in, you know, school. (What I would recommend is look at what you are doing in your own classes that you find interesting, and try to build an article about that by interviewing classmates/teachers.)
