DO NOW:
  • Retrieval Practice
  • daily check-in
 LEARNING GOALS
  • Using direct quotations and paraphrases
INDEPENDENT AGENDA
  • Begin notes on 207, do the NoRedInk practice, study, then take the mastery check when you're ready.
  • We'll be in the library tomorrow to learn about research database searches. We'll do a formal proposal at the start of next unit, but you might want to start thinking about a potential topic. My topic choice requirements are below:
    • It has to have multiple perspectives. This means you can’t pick something like geckos or longboarding just because you think they’re cool. Everyone thinks geckos are cool. End of story. No argument. Next topic.
    • The perspectives have to be researchable. This means you can find information about the topic or perspectives in a research database. This also means you can’t research a general topic like ‘racism.’ You’d have a hard time coming up with support for the part of the paper that would say, “Hey kids! Racism is a good thing!”
    • You can't research the topics gun control, alcohol/drugs, or abortion. Sorry. Off limits. See me for further explanation.
COURSEWORK (most likely posted and completed in Google Classroom)
  • On pace for today: Finish 207
