  • ~5 minutes: Read this example essay. This essay is a good goal for the quality/amount of writing you are to produce today. You can use this as an example of how to structure an essay. 
    • SOME THINGS TO NOTICE AS YOU READ:
    • This was written by an actual student in 45 minutes. 
    • It's not perfect. Some things are undeveloped and there are grammar/spelling errors. Perfection is not the goal.
    • Identify their clear thesis: Without caution and deliberation, replacing the natural with the mechanical would undoubtedly be disastrous. It's specific, arguable, and supportable.
    • Notice their use of evidence:
      • Economic impact on workers
      • Human interaction with automation weakens human contact.
      • Computer speed of processing (counter claim)

  • YOUR ASSIGNMENT IS TO CREATE THE BEST ESSAY YOU CAN IN 45 MINUTES. That means you should not be packing up early unless you truely have written a perfect, flawless essay.
