Conclusions
Discuss about any or all of the following in your discussion:
  • Research- What you learned on both sides
  • What do you agree or disagree with (be specific)
  • Opinions, causes, solutions, and effects of the problem
  • Broader implications of your issue
  • Reflection back on personal experience and how the research challenges or reaffirms your ideas.
Maybe considering answering the following questions:
  • How could you extend the ideas the previous sources put forth?
  • What was something new that you could add to the conversation?
  •  How could you draw knowledge, perspectives and wisdom from all sides to advance the debate?
Lastly, try these other strategies:
  • Play the “So What” game.
  • Synthesize, don’t summarize. Instead, show your reader how the points you made and the support and examples you used fit together.
  • Include a provocative insight or quotation from the research or reading you did for your paper.

REMEMBER
The purpose of taking notes is to make sure:
