DO NOW
  • Daily Check-in
Learning Objectives
  • I can make complex and insightful inferences
  • I can identify strong, thorough, and explicit evidence
Agenda
  • Review Assessment #2.
    • Student Example: Daisy's reaction to the beautiful shirts may be because it makes her think that she could have been there to see Gatsby get each shirt. Not only is she overwhelmed with sadness, but also reminded of the life and memories that she could have had with Gatsby. Earlier in the chapter, when Nick came back inside his house, he saw "Daisy's face was smeared with tears" (89) after she and Gatsby had been talking. For they had probably talked and caught up on their lives, this caused Daisy to get emotional about not being a part of Gatsby's life. So when seeing parts of Gatsby's life, even small things like the clothes he wears, it causes her to become extremely upset as it is an indication of what she never got.
  • Final Reasoning Practice.
  • If time allows, finish chapter 6 independently - (audiobook)
