I agree with Noah, and his theory that the wallpaper had some kind of mold and that the mold was the cause of hallucinations. Also when she (the main character) sees the wall or things on the wall moving, it could be because of trees outside. like in a Scooby Doo episode where the tree's shadow scares Scooby.
