Hey folks,
My wife is sick, so I get to be dad for a day and take care of my daughters. Sorry to be gone today. Be respectful of the sub and each other. The agenda and work for the day is outlined below.

DO NOW​

• ​Daily Check-in
• If you were gone at least one day last week between Monday and Thursday, you can have until tonight at midnight to turn in your 507 - A Good Life Essay. 
  • ​If you have your annotations completed for revisions on your essay, turn those into the appropriate bins up front.
    

AGENDA

• Review a simplified Essay Rubric (passed out in class)
• Anchor Essays: Read, rank, and score the following 3 essays. Using the form attached to Assignment #501 in Google Classroom. The essays are linked below. You may work in groups to discuss the scores you would give each essay.
  • Essay A
  • Essay B
  • Essay C 
• Reflection Questions (you will answer these in the Google Form)
  • Did this essay persuade you or get you to think about their topic in a new way? Why or why not?
  • What lessons might they have for your writing? (remember, this could be things to do OR not do.)
  • What is one or more of this student’s “writer’s moves” you could borrow and imitate it in your own work?
• ​When finished, find out what the actual scores for the essays were by reviewing the answers on the Google Form
• Then, complete the 502 personal essay evaluation form (on Google Classroom) using the essay you wrote in class on Friday. You can grab your essay from the appropriate pile on my desk.
