  • Determine impact - how ideas or characters are developed over a text and what effect this has
  • Analyze - detailed examination of the elements of something
  • Support – identify and use relevant evidence

​Agenda
  • Close read selections of Act 3.
    • Tips for annotating:
      -Underline or highlight important words or phrases. 

      -Ask questions.
      -Write summarize, observations and connections in the margins.
      -Use symbols to mark things you like or find interesting (+), you dislike (-), or find critical to the understanding of the text (!)

  • For each selection, answer the following questions:
    1. What do we learn about these characters?
    2. What is the impact of this scene on the audiences (e.g. how does this scene add to the drama of the play)?

  • In partners, or alone, complete the 208 - Character Motivation Chart
