Began Catcher in the Rye Reading Schedule - Be through these chapters on these days. Monday, 9th – Chapter 7 Monday 16th – Chapter 15 Monday 23rd – Chapter 22 Tuesday 31st – Chapter 26 As you read look for the following 1.Determine the two most essential parts Salinger uses (plot points, POV, voice, character) to set up the exposition of his story. Describe what each one of those elements does to set the reader up for the narrative. 2.Analyze Holden Caulfield's voice and explain how it adds to the set up of the story. Based on his voice, what can your interpret about what the rest of the story will be about. (Don’t just predict plot). 3.All stories revolve around a central problem. What, in your opinion, is Holden’s main problem. Support your decision with evidence from the text.
