Revision Process

• Print your first draft (you’ll be turning this annotated copy in)
• Look at both the assignment document and the Revision and Editing Checklist
• Annotate
  • 1.Put a number by the sentences where you explicitly respond to the parts of the prompt (e.g. 2.1 by were you explain meaning of a metaphor)
  • 2.Underline any sentence that you think you could improve or write more persuaviely/clearly.
  • 3.Cross out sentences, phrases, or words that don’t help respond to the prompt directly.
  • 4.Circle and dead or weak words
  • 5.Comments in margin on what you like, don’t like, and what you could add or do to fix a sentence or paragraph.​
